What can you tell us about the Superfund sites that are near where you live?
Alark Hard Chrome is a company that does electroplating, a process of plating one metal on top of another through hydrolysis. Chemicals such as cadmium and chromium "drip" into the ground and surface water. 

What did you learn about the air quality in your zipcode?
I am shocked to learn that the air quality in Murrieta, CA is among the worst in the country,

  1. It appears that your county didn’t rank very well in air quality. I was also surprised to learn that my county ranked among the dirtiest 10% of all counties in the U.S. in terms of air quality back in 2003. Perhaps it is getting better today. In toxic waste, it must be a great concern that your county has two superfunds with those chemicals dripping into the water. How far is your house from the superfunds? Is there any plan for the clean-up of those sites?

  2. I'm honestly shocked with your results. When I did a search of Los Angeles, where I lived for over 20 years, it showed similar results, which was not a surprise. Marietta seems to be a great place to live in (at least from the times I've been there), but I did not think it would have poor air quality. I think it's very important for us to know this type of information from the environment that we live in. Air pollution can lead to many health problems and knowing this information before relocating would allow us to make appropriate decisions.
